More Than Physical Fitness
Sometimes getting stronger physically is only part of the journey.
Personal training is my job. But I'd be dishonest if I pretended fitness was only ever about the physical side of things.
I've experienced periods of struggling with my own mental health, confidence, weight, alcohol and addiction.
I know how difficult it can be when you're stuck in unhealthy patterns and can't see how you're going to change them.
I'm not going to tell you that exercise magically fixes everything.
It doesn't.
But I do believe that exercise can become an important part of building a healthier lifestyle and a more positive routine.
What training can offer
Six things exercise gave me
Structure
Something in the week that's yours, planned and dependable.
Routine
Regular training can help anchor the rest of the day.
Confidence
Getting physically stronger can change how you see yourself.
Achievement
Small wins that stack up and prove progress is happening.
Purpose
A positive focus to work towards, week after week.
Accountability
Someone expecting you, encouraging you and checking in.
Recovery-supportive fitness
Exercise as one part of a healthier lifestyle
For people who are working towards recovery from alcohol or addiction, exercise can be one part of creating a healthier lifestyle.
It can provide routine, accountability and a positive focus.
But I want to be clear
I'm a personal trainer, not an addiction or mental-health professional.
My role is to provide exercise, encouragement, accountability and healthy lifestyle support.
I don't diagnose or treat mental health conditions or addiction, and personal training isn't a replacement for appropriate professional treatment.
If you're struggling with addiction or your mental health, I encourage you to seek support from an appropriately qualified healthcare or addiction professional alongside your fitness journey.
You don't have to choose between getting help and getting healthier.
The two can work alongside each other.
No judgement
No judgement
I don't care where you've been.
I'm interested in where you want to go.
Your past doesn't make you a failure.
Making mistakes doesn't mean you can't change.
And having a difficult period doesn't mean your story is finished.
Your next chapter can be different.
Start Your Journey
Let's start where you are
No lectures. No judgement.
Just training, support and a plan you can actually stick to.
